Thread: Car won't move !! Please help :(

    so i just changed my front axle on a 2001 s4 and after that i drove it for a little then i came to a stop. i tried putting it back in first gear And going, but the car doesnt move. it just revs up and the speedometer goes up as if its accelerating. minor clinking noise. what is it??

    The outer CV spline was a touch too small and slipped/stripped under load. There is more than one size outer spline....ask me how I know.

    i just felt my shaft and its loose... so is the transmission screwed!?

    No, S4 Quattro is Torque sensitive. If it detects any axle slippage or it the axles give anywhere it wont let you move the car..

    if one axle fails the car will not move. It will send all the power to the broken axle.
