output speed sensor

i need to know where inside the transmisson is the output speed sensor in a 2002 VW Golf 2.0 automatic. ive been reading posts but have not run across this answer. ive read about the gear ratio code and limp mode, which im having the same problems. does anyone have a diagram for the output sensor location if it is inside, or is it it one on the outside. i have located all the ones on the outside. just need a little clarification.
