    Yes.

    Are you capable?

    Probably not.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Maybe he wanted to get the motor and have someone else do the swap?

But yes, it should fit if I remember right.

thank you for your non criticizing answer and the reason i ask is because i noticed it was differnt looking then the standard 2.0 motor i have seen installed in most cabbies plus somone was getting rid of one for around 150.00....again it was a 2000 tdi 2.0 motor from a bug. It never hurts to ask

TDI = Diesel. Totally different fuel system. It's a no-go.

You can put a diesel in a cabby, it is easier than you think. The hardest part is making the engine mounts......

20 years of Diesel Rabbit ownership. a 13 gallon diesel tank @ 50mpg, that would be a far drive .

One tank and I am to my mother-in-laws and back...
Grounds, Grounds, Grounds Replace them things.
Divorces, Great Coffee, and Electrics, all start with GOOD Grounds.

    Where are my grounds ?

Very true. But technically it's more than just an engine swap, and that's something the OP needs to be aware of.

My first car was a Diesel Rabbit. I loved it!
