I would have thought that the royalties from all the years with the Doobies Brothers, coupled with your solo career, it would be a drop in the bucket. LOL

I used to work at Sennheiser in Old Lyme literally next door to Callaway. Got to see some sweeeeeet cars going by day after day. I definitely miss working there.

    Im sure!

i wonder if they are going to make a new callaway scirocco. it would be cooler if they also used the same decals and wheels (that fit the car of coarse!) like similar newly engineered wheels.
    would be really cool!

And did you notice that out of all the Scirocco people on here, no one is interested. An opportunity to buy one of these happens once in a lifetime, but our community only buys $1500 fix'er uppers.

The way I see it whether the car is or is not worth 20k is less of an issue than what you can get for 20k today.

You can get some killer stuff, s2000, audi tt, etc , not to mention the mental scirocco you can build on a 20k budget.

The callaway is somewhat of a rare, novelty historical item, but I not sure it is sought after enough to have guys jumping on it for 20k.

This does not take anything away from the car, the great condition it seems to be in etc.

    Just my .2c

    2 Sciroccos with 16v's in them, both from California : 1978 & 1988

I see you found the Callaway that is for sale : http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...bo-Scirocco-17

I almost bought #16 when it was still in CT, had problems with the person selling it, as in there were no keys for this Scirocco and no title, just a bill of sale.

Now that car for sale was $5000 and it is in a bit different condition. And please also note that our $1500 fix'er upper community wouldn't buy it either.

So, indeed I don't expect anyone in the Scirocco community to buy my car. They wouldn't pay $5000, let alone $20K. They would rather buy an mass produced Honda or a gussied up Beetle. When it comes down to it, they're not REALLY into Sciroccos. They're just cheap cars and that fits their budget.

I wasn't saying I would buy the above #17, justing pointing out that Mike McDonald had seen the ad, which has some more info about where other Callaway Sciroccos are located

the reason I was interested in #16 is that it is a Cosmos Blue Scirocco instead of a Black one like most other Callaway Sciroccos, just to have something different than others I've seen inperson, watch would be #'s 10 & 17
