factory side skirt fail...

so, i was washing my car today and my passenger side skirt fell the hell off my car...all the clips are pretty shot and it doesnt like to stay on. thinking about just using a mild epoxy and glueing it back on, but both sides are in kinda ruff shape...

anyone have any luck at reparing damaged skirts??

anyone have a link to a site where i could maybe buy some new factory skirts?

Just to clarify when you say side skirt do you mean the cover strips with end caps or the the actually side skirt.

the textured bottom runner covers with end caps.

i was thinking a 3m adhesive. probobly gonna wash them all up and try that tonight once it cools down. still would love to find a place to buy 2 new sides though as mine are pretty beat up.

im planning on texturing the door molding and bumper tops soon, so id like to try and get new pieces to give the car the facelift it deserves

Are cracked or piece chipped out? If not then when you coat it will cover up if the paint its self is bad

You can buy all the OEM rocker trim pieces except one front end cap that appears to have been discontinued. Their prices are better than the dealership. thevwpartsstore.com Still think its around 500$ for everything....

I went to my local dealership it was 68.50 per coverstrip and per end cap 11.50 for the end caps pretty pricey but saved Mr a ton of headaches.

here in canada the long strips go for about 80 or 90 a piece. worth the money and not the hassle to find them used in good condition.

i see you have a black color car? if so to put textured top bumpers and side mouldings will not make much difference.

if you want to go that way still or have a different color car; i have some euro textured side mouldings with the VR6 logo on the side in silver with fender flares to go along.

im actually pretty interested in those sides with flares. asking price?

im aware the textured tops on a black car will not be that noticable. it will be a little mod that only a dubber or someone with a keen eye will be able to point out. i did this on my old black mk3 jetta and it looked pretty sweet. wish i had a pic of that car. but yes....flairs and sidemolding is something i've been thinking about for quite a while to add that little bit of mk2 styllng


3M tapped the piece back on, worked allright but i am missing the driver side cover, so im off to hunt around for that now....prolly gonna just pic that up at vw

Just replaced my sides. dealer price was 98.00 for each side. The strip comes w/ the rear end cap, the front is seprate.
