Hello. I haven't used this technical forum before but hope that I find some cool, helpful people here.

Below is a post I made in a regional thread about a vag-com scan on an 01 Passat. I thought I would share it with some techical forums (I'm going to duplicate post in the 1.8t forum for maximum input) to hopefully tap into a broader scope of knowledgeable people.

A check engine light came on in my wife's B5 passat 1.8t (weird, right) with an emissions workshop warning on the display. So I get my buddy to scan it expecting something emissions related but the scan came up with nothing like that. I did get some pretty interesting fault codes and wanted to get some other peoples oppinions on whether I should do anything about them and some places to start. We reset the check engine light and so far it hasn't come back so we'll see if it was a hiccup or something bigger.

The car itself never had any hesitation in power or limit in revs or any noticable change in driving characteristics.

Here's a copy of the scan results:

So, after you cleared the fault codes, none came back? And you have no real problems with the car? Then sounds like you have no issues.

Clutch pedal switch looks like it has a problem. ABS modules says it is incorrectly coded. These would be items that should be looked into.

But, if you have no noticeable driving issues, then should be good to go.

You're probably right. On the other thread I make someone attatched this link: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Main_Page Looking through the fault codes it looks like most of the probable solutions involve checking wiring. I'll probably check continuity to and from the control module and if everything checks good just call it a day.
