Couple dealers near me are advertising < $300/month for a Journey Premium Sedan.

If you got one would you mind sharing your final numbers?

These are amazing deals. They really want to launch the 2014 model well so they are really giving away the 18 month lease to get you back in the dealer when they show up.

The best deals I've seen, people are getting payments in the mid to high 200's for loaded G37 sedans. Most dealers are at least doing $5k off MSRP on any model, and if you're a current lease customer there's an extra $1000 loyalty bonus.

FYI- you may want to look into the buy special as well. Infiniti is giving dealers an extra $3k on purchased cars (financed or cash) so you can get a 6MT Sport model for about $34k ($42k msrp)

This is a killer deal. I am so tempted to go check it out myself.

That's not even a requirement, you can roll that into the lease and just do first month's payment.

IMO, your advice is absolutely the smartest way to lease a car.

ONLY put down the first month's payment, and roll everything else into the lease...

That being said, the lease being offered on the G25 & G37 is pretty aggressive.

I am going to get a quote for the G25 Journey and G37 Journey and let you guys know what I am offered.

The ones near me are showing $0 down, $289/month + first months payment, doc fee, TTL, etc.

That ~$1,700 dollar down payment seems like a steep amount for the dealer to absorb, basing it off of the numbers online.

    From the national website:

*Excl. taxes, title & lic. Retailer participation req.

*$1,999 INIT. PYMNT. REQ. AT CONSUMMATION (INCL. $1,710 CONSUMER DOWN PYMNT., $289 FIRST MONTH PYMNT).

*2012 G25 Sedan Journey RWD with Moonroof subj. to avail. to well-qualified customers who lease through Nissan-Infiniti LT. Subj. to credit approval.

    *MSRP $36,495 incl. dest. chrg.

*Net capitalized cost of $33,300 incl. a $700 non-refundable acq. fee.

*Retailer contribution may affect actual price set by retailer.

    *Monthly pymnts. total $5,202.

*At lease end, purchase for $28,831 plus $300 purchase option fee (except KS & WI) plus tax, or pay excess wear & use plus $0.25/mile for mileage over 12,000 miles/year

I would question the dealer's actual pricing on this specific lease. Seems too good to be true.

I have done many 24 month and shorter leases. They can be very good deals.

There's manufacturer to dealer cash on the table, which is probably where they are making up ground.

Don't question it for a minute. In fact, the lease you are likely to walk away with will be much cheaper than what is quoted online. That lease is advertised based off the MSRP, and I'll give you a little hint..they're selling for much less than MSRP. You can get a G25 in the low 200's/mo.

    You are correct

I did not even take into consideration the Invoice/MSRP difference...especially with Infiniti trying to move these models so aggressively.

What is there to investigate? It's not a big secret that Infiniti G25 is dirt cheap to lease.

You can also lease a Mercedes C250 sedan for about $300 right now. And BMW has a huge clearance on 2012 3 series coupe and convertible. You can get about $5,000 in various rebates and option credits plus insane 65% residual... You have to be a major 'tard to drive out paying more than $350 a month in a loaded 328i coupe right now.

Woah, just checked a local dealer's advertisement:

*36 Months, 12K miles per year, plus 1st month payment, $298 doc fee, security deposit, tax, title and registration**39 Months, 10K miles per year, plus 1st month payment, $298 doc fee, security deposit, tax, title and registration. ***18 Months, 12K miles per year, plus 1st month payment, $298 doc fee, security deposit, tax, title and registration. Offers end 8/6/12.
I'm tempted! $269 + tax, with 0 down except doc fee and TTL.

First off, I am not suggesting these are bad deals. Not at all.

But you guys are (still) asking the wrong questions:

    1. What is the MF?
    2. What is the residual?

Also, aside from fees and first months payment, you never put money down (cap cost reduction) on a lease.

I just have no understanding of how leases work. I know the terms but don't know their meaning. Needless to say, I've never leased anything. I have learned, however, not to put money down on leases .

$269 and $0 down for that G37x sounds great. I'd like mine in non-x and with a 6-speed. Do those exist?

You can get a G37 for pocket change too.

BMW and Mercedes dealers in LA typically advertise with down payment of $2~3k but you don't need to pay it if you know how to negotiate. The BMW rebates are pretty ridiculous right now.

My friend just leased a 2012 G37 Sedan, Journey with Premium package. 18 month lease, $377/month, $300 due at sign in. Seems very reasonable to me.

Sure, but just a suggestion, the AWD Automatic version will likely have a significantly higher residual value, therefore giving you a favorable monthly payment. That's why you'll typically see G37x, G25x, IS250 AWD, 328i Xdrive, etc. in all the ads with insanely low lease payments. You'll need to get well versed in cap cost, money factor, and residual values to determine whether you're getting a good deal or not.

I can hook you up with my BMW guy if you are serious. They are waiting for the August program to be announced so this is not a good week to buy.

Also, just to give you an idea of the kind of deals that were out there last month (July), one of my friend just picked up an E350 Bluetec for $399 a month, zero down for 24 month.

After all the fine print, what's the real monthly payment? I know zero about leases, so this is a real question.

Yep, I couldn't believe it either. E350 (gasoline version) are going for $600 a month but Mercedes had a pile of rebate on the E350 Bluetec and goosed up residual so it was $400 a month.

The Infiniti deals are pretty good too... I haven't seen the G37 dip below $350 in a long time but they are out there.

Point being that if you don't absolutely need to lease a car today, don't... wait until the right deal pops up. I have another friend that picked up a BMW ActiveHybrid 7 for $630 a month when the car was launched last year. That's 5 series money for LWB 7 series.

Seems like the only place where there is no deal right now is Audi... I could use a new Allroad...

A real good friend of mine is a Infiniti F&I manager. The deal is real. I have brought people in and they have gotten it.

Catch is there are very few units left. They painted themselves in a corner, and now many of the highest selling dealers have to go 8 months without their bread and butter car.

Not too many people who are leasing are going to be looking at residuals... the term is too short.

But seriously, that deal looks legit (other than being totally expired). $269+tax so $291 if you live in LA County. $0 cap reduction, first month payment, bank fee, and license due at inception. So my estimate is that it will be roughly $1,200 to leave Cerritos Inifinit last week in a G37.

It's also a 12k mile lease which is pretty generous. Although the weird 18 month term means you'll have to pay for 6 months of license to the State and not have the car... that's an extra $300 or so you'll just donate to the State treasury.

What all do I need to make happen for that E350 Bluetec right now?

I would buy my wife that car tomorrow if I could get it for that kind of money.
