I took these at Six Flags Over New Orleans a few years after Katrina. All shot on film:

If you've seen the Silent Hill movie, it was based on Centralia.
This is the abandoned portion of Rt 42 outside of Centralia, Pa

This particular portion of the road was dubbed "D*ck Country"

I've got a thing for old abandoned airports.

    http://www.airfields-freeman.com/

This is part of a runway at an old WW2 era airbase in FL. A college now sits on top of it. Man I miss that car too.

    These are the remaining barracks.

The ramp where the aircraft parked. I could almost hear the B-17 Radial engines!

There are a bunch of old tunnels that crisscross the whole area too, I've never been in them but a buddy of mine has been down there exploring them before.

I flew out to this airport. It is in the middle of the everglades. Back in the day, people in Miami complained that the Concord was too loud, so they built this way out there. It was never used Looks to still be in pretty good condition too.

I'm gonna need to take some pics tomorrow if the weather is nice. There's a ton of cool abandoned buildings up here in northern Michigan because of all the old mines.

I stopped in Centralia on my way back from Philadelphia one year. If you like weak beer, I mean Yuengling...their brewery is roughly 15 minutes away.
