I did enjoy the beta a good bit. I am a big fan of RPG's and MMORPG's.

One game I never did take a liking to after multiple attempts? World of Warcraft.

I was really into Guild Wars and then my desktop died and I ended up replacing it with a Macbook and sort of never picked it up again.

I would love to pick this up but my girlfriends laptop certainly can't run it and I don't have the budget to build or buy a desktop at the moment.

I just got a refund on my digital MoP expansion and bought GW2 through the website, it's downloading now. All my online friends got it and they are loving it so far.

I played for a few hours last night, almost level 8.

Basically the game is awesome.

The combat system is awesome.
The ability system is awesome.
There is no "mob tagging", everyone attacking a mob gets credit.
The crafting system is pretty convoluted but you can learn all professions (but only use two at a time).
You can gather any crafting materials if you have the tool (there are 3 and they are consumable).
The "questing" system is awesome.
The world is pretty huge, at least from what I've seen so far.
And it's pretty.

I only got to play for about an hour last night, but so far the game seems really good.

I can't see our usual WoW raid forming tonight, considering the 5.0.4 patch and how everyone will be relearning their class.

Looking forward to playing more GW2 tonight.

What server is everyone on? We ought to form a guild.

My character is only L1 still, so I don't care where I end up, really. Just looking for other familiar folks to group with.

I got an email about an hour ago asking me to confirm a password change that I didn't start...

But I have a strong password so I should be good.

The problem is that I CAN'T log into my account. It's happening now with my GW1 account too. There's no way I'm paying $70 just to have some scumbag f*ck with me.

The game itself? I preordered it. Speaking of which, I got an email yesterday to "Activate" my GW2 account. It provided a link, but it was not hyperlinked. So I manually copied and pasted it into the address bar, and it said that the link wouldn't work. I tried it right now, and it says that the link is expired or something...

Their email verification system is broken, it says so on the website. I get the message in the launcher to verify my email address and the email link doesn't work- it doesn't stop you from playing though.

Looking at the ratings I am second thinking getting into this game. Is leveling a grind like every other MMORPG? Don't really want to have to deal with that **** again.

I'm kind of disappointed with it for the fact that it looks a lot like WoW. There is a lot more to do like crafting and all, but it just seems like the game has lost some iconic realism.

I guess I'll just have to keep playing and see how I like it.

The graphics look like more WoW than GW quality. The characters do at least.

Maybe that's just me, but I prefer the old GW graphics.

EDIT: It was just me...don't know what I was thinking when I said that ^

I don't know either, GW2's graphics engine is way more detailed and realistic than WoW ever has been or will be.

The only problem I have with it right now is the lag. Maybe turning the graphics down may help, but I don't have much time at all to play the game so I'll tinker with it over the weekend.
