Anyone have a tire dressing that they recommend?

I love it when my tires look black and wet. But there are so many products out now. What I used in the past doesnt seem to work the same any more.

Also looking for something to protect the dash in a brand new vw golf. I had used some UV product in the past. Forget the name.

I have always loved Rick's Best satin tire dressing. It may not be exactly what you're looking for, because it doesn't leave them "wet", it basically absorbs into the rubber and makes them look really dark, and just a bit more glossy than new. You would get that stuff online on prevettes.com.

Before discovering the satin, I used to use the stuff in the black can, I believe meguiars hot shine or something like that. It definitely is very high gloss, but it doesn't last through crap. One rain and it's done. Rick's Best has a high gloss too, I just haven't ever used it, the satin looks so perfect. I would imagine though that the high gloss has a pretty good longevity as well.

I like using Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss whenever Im at a show, more regularly, I use AG Vinyl Rubber and Plastic, subtle, but effective.

I know that the Meguiar's product does sling if you dont let it dry properly. The autogylm stuff is water based I believe. Not as glossy as the meguiars.

Adams VRT is the best I've used. Just remember that tires should be cleaned like anything else before applying a protectant such as dressing.

Been using Mothers FX for the last few months and have been really impressed. Not a high shine and not a matte finish--kind of looks like licorice. Durability has been very good--getting about 3-4 weeks before I need to redo depending on the weather.

I'd also like some suggestions for the Golf dash!!!!

I have been using the AutoGlym tire dressing this summer on my GTI and have no complaints. No spray up on the car, doesnt fade after a rain storm. Usually last a good week. Its just a spray and let it soak in for 5 mins process. Only down side is cost and size. I bought mine when it was on sale for $8.00 and never seen it that low again. And the bottle is very tiny. Hope this helps.

I have also use 303 spray with great results on the wheels.

For the dash i am using Sonax dash spray.
It comes out as a Matt finish and looks like it did when it was brand new!

I use Zaino Z-16 or Black Magic Titanium Matte Finish. Zaino seems to last a bit longer, but both provide a nice, satin sheen without the nasty reflective gel look.

Adam's VRT is my favorite tire product. Meguiar's Endurance isn't bad, but as others have said you need to let it really soak in and wipe off any excess before driving or it will end up on your paint.

1Z Cockpit is my favorite for interiors, 303 Aerospace Protectant is good bang-for-the-buck.

303 Aerospace, gives a nice look and doesn't fling off onto the car at all. PLus you can use it for anything rubber on your car, door seals, etc.

I have been using eagle one enviro tire gel leaves a nice satin shine and it last...even after rain.

For your VDub's dash, you can use Meguiars Natural Shine Protectant. It's their 'new-er' product for interiors and I have been using it regularly for the past 8 months or so and it does work well. Cheers!

A Michelin engineer recommended that I try Scrubbing Bubbles (yes, the bathroom cleaner) on my tires. Leaves a nice matte finish looking like new.

+1 on 1Z Cockpit for the dash. That stuff is amazing. For the tires I've heard good things about Swisswax (but they're expensive) and 1Z or Sonax is prob pretty good.

I like Adam's VRT, easy to use, easy to clean off the wheels if you get any on them. Use 1 coat for a natural finish and layer or two more for more shine.

I might have to try scrubbing bubble on my jeep tires to see how it works.

Westley's Bleche White is the best for removing grime from tires. Just make sure not to let it dwell too long on your wheels and to rinse them thoroughly.
