i have a 02 gti and was wanting to hear some ppls opinions on fmics. i am looking to buy one soon and have talked to a few shops and what not. i have pretty much every bolt on besides this. i am wanting to do rods and a bigger turbo also down the road. ive been looking at eurojet (race) and forge and dont know what to go with. would the eurojet race fit my stock turbo for now? and whats the best option for a fmic?

    thanks alot guys!

You don't need the race core unless you plan to be over 400 HP at some point. Up until that power level, the street core will do you just fine. I personally have the street set up, on a 3071R. No issues, and the fitment is excellent. No need to trim the bumper or remove the grilles. Also, do a search for this stuff, there are a lot of threads with good information about this.
CTS/Kinetic Top Mount Kit (Garrett GT3071R), Eurodyne Maestro 630cc, Siemens 630cc Injectors, Walbro GSS340 In-tank, New South Column Mount Boost Gauge, TT/R32 Control Arm Bushings, 18x8 ASA AR1's wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DWS, BFI Stage 2 Dogbone Inserts, Eurojet Street FMIC, 42DD Stealth Catch Can, BFI Stage 1 Engine and Transmission Mounts, 42DD 3in. Turboback Exhaust, TSI Ignition Coils w/ IE Adapter Plates

Spend money once on a core/kit The eurojet stuff is okay if you stay small frame turbo. Once you go mid to large its no good. So get a tradstone precision 600 intercooler or larger and get the piping fabbed up locally, or buy a kit from arnold at pagparts.

Don't,buy a eurojet kit only to realize its not workin as well as when you were stock turbo.

If that's what you want. The Tr4,6,8 all fit really well on the TT and perform great. Also, they aren't overpriced like most of the big name brands. Show me another quality core under $300..

I did look for quite awhile and couldn't find much more than eurojet forge and custom set up. A little off topic but I noticed you have a Audi tt short shifter in your tag I just installed one and I'm having grinding issues

AWIC is where its at cheaper, lighter, less pressure loss, faster response, dont have to chop up your car. and easy to change individual parts to tune to your needs

Well I took out the stock one and put in the tt one and it would grind in 3rd at like 5500 rpm then I looked how to adjust it and I adjusted it with the tt one in and now grinds in second when I try to shift fast? Should I have adjusted it with the oem then put in the tt?

And what fmic are you running btw?

i have a custom setup based off greddy style piping with a cxracing 28x8x3.5 core

you adjust it after you install the shifter you want to use. thats how i did it anyways. 1st time mine wasn't quite right. 2nd time i adjusted it, i got it right where it needed to be. thats where it sits today

tweak the shifter a little is all i can say. unless you feel your gear oil needs to be changed. but if the problem started immediately after the tt short shifter install, i'd start with that.

as for the intercooler stuff. look at the intercooler showoff thread and the FAQ. get an idea of what size and what route of piping you want and buy the apporpriate core. dont buy a giant core if you dont have to, you dont want yo hack up your car

Anyone got a pic like tom's, but with an Apr front mount. I like the stock style routing a lot, all hidden and ****. I know treadstone makes a same side in/out intercooler, but kinda curious how the pipes are ran.

I have an APR front mount with same side in/out.

I don't have a picture with the front clip removed like the one Tom posted.

You can see pics of my car in my build thread.

What would you like to know?

Just wanted to see the layout of the pipes, or a fmic setup with a
Tt225 manifold. Nothing against anyone's build here, but I really hate seeing pipes running across an engine bay. This is on a mk4 any ways.

Grog ill look at your build in the mean time

One note on the apr setup... It blocks the oem tow point.

I had a tow point welded in driver side because of this
