Hi, I got a 2011 CC visor with homelink in the mail over the weekend.

I've done the install a few times before in two Mk IVs, and a B5.5 and never had trouble.

Tried it in my 2011 Sportwagen and it was a no go....

I pulled the stock visor and I can see there is 12V at the two pin plug with the visor mirror closed and light off. When you open the mirror, and visor light comes on, there is suddenly no voltage at the visor anymore. How does that work?

I tired the normal procedure to power the homelink and its not getting power as it should.

I assume it has something to do with how the visor and vanity light are wired.

I read a few DIYs for Tiguans, B6s, and Mk Vs and it seems that you have to run a seperate wire down the pillar to the fusebox to power the homelink and leave the other wiring alone.

How do you pull the A-Pillar trim off?

I'm sure I can find a good 12V constant source for the Homelink once I get a wire down there.

A piller is held in by a T25 torx fastener under the airbag logo, which you gently pry off. There are also two or three plastic trim pins in the center and an alignment tab or two at the bottom. Just took mine off tonight to troubleshoot the Pano roof drains.

FYI, some 2009 JSWs came with Homelink as a factory option.
