I own a 2002 Golf GLS. She's my baby and Im trying to make her look a little better. I was considering lowing it a little and getting some wheels instead of the hub caps (a must in my opinion). Im open to any and all opinions!

low and wheels is definitely a great place to start. browse some of the longer picture threads on the forum and maybe you'll see some that catch your eye

Get some 18" wheels you like and see how it looks. Don't be cheap and get some crappy TSWs or something. Get some wheels that really look good.

If you go with lowered suspension, your ride quality WILL be reduced. Think about it before you have your GF/wife in the car and it's banging around like a tractor.

Sway bars (front and rear) will make a larger difference to handling performance than suspension. They also don't harm ride quality as much.

Claybar it, and clean your windows well. That make it look new, and new = sexy

paint your wheels an obnoxious color(start a new thread about what color you should paint them)
buy cheap coilovers and use the im a broke college kid excuse
wrap you headliner in plaid, but watch out for the plaid nazi
straight pipe it because broke college kid excuse again
10,000k hid kit would really set it off too.
