ok, My AC only cools while the van is moving and I noticed that my fans on the radiator do not come on at all while the climatronic system is in AC cooling mode.

Fans do work when high temp sensor forces them on. heard them both come on after a short drive thru town after a freeway drive.

I checked and there is a slight resistance between two of the connections on the two resistors behind the front bumper so they are not broken open, even though they do look like crap. any ideas how to get them off the van? they are riveted to the crash bar behind the bumper, not very service/replacement friendly

Does anyone have a wiring diagram, Fuse suggestion to check, or an idea how I can just jumper one of these two fans to work constantly with a relay and an on/off switch to get us thru our upcoming 1500 mile family road trip beginning This Saturday?

I have VCDS< but no Bentley. I do have a volt ohm meter if you can be specific where the connectors are on the van, how to access them, and what to check to get them to work normally, or in the meantime, what would be the best way to just force one or both of them on while the engine is running with a toggle switch and a relay and fused circuit..

    Thanks!

I would check the strip fuses in the box in front of the battery too. These are dirt cheap ($0.90 each from Europarts) and a common failure item. While your resistors might be good, if 12v+ isn't getting to the fans then nothing else matters.

ill take a look and see if there is continuity from one side to the other on the strip fuses. I did a visual the other day and they all looked to be intact. also, wouldnt the fact that the fans do come on when the high temperature switch clicks on mean that they do get 12V? or is the high temperature system ran off a different fuse than the normal low speed fans?

    Thanks for the help.
