So I replaced the rear brakes on my car and apparently my car wants more parts. The steering wheel buttons and the horn do not work. From what i can tell it is probably the clock spring. My question is will this part that ECS has supper cheap work for my 2006.5 GTI?

I was trying to figure out the difference in the parts and I found a link for the part ECS has for about $15 alongside the $130 part.

I'm just trying to figure out if the functionality will be the same.

Anyone know a true way to test the clock spring other than using the vag com that just tells you there is no communication? Curious if it's actually the control module. The lights on the steering wheel are acting up such as when the dome light delay turns off the steering wheel control lights come back on briefly. They won't come on when the parking lights come on like the rest of the interior lights but will when the light switch is turned to the headlight position. Just trying to figure out if the issue is more the control module.

Now my airbag light came on. Clock spring has to be toast.
