Greetings, dub family! My name is Ashley, and I'm kinda new to the whole mod game. I've had my 2009 Passat Komfort 2.0T since 2010 and waited until this year before doing anything interesting to it. Put a little work in it so far, but not much. The next steps will be putting sun gold VMR 710's on her, sun gold front and rear VW badges, and lowering springs for a slightly more aggressive look. I don't feel like I need to do much in the way of performance because she runs beautifully and is very responsive as is. I did, however, get a K&N 69 Series Typhoon intake installed and tuned for a bit of added horsepower (not pictured). Here's what I've done so far:

This my baby, all shined up! Got her detailed after a 3500 mile cross country road trip.

Enhanced my car's chrome accents with more chrome! These chrome door handles add just a touch more chrome without making the scheme too overwhelming.

Didn't want to pay for smoked tail lights so I got them tinted. Was thinking about cutting out the reverse lights, but the sepia filter is starting to grow on me. I also have a rear view camera now, as you can see.

Spliced and installed a Pioneer AVH-P2400BT head unit all by myself! I find my stock speakers to be pretty decent, so I didn't change those. I did put a 12" Kicker in the trunk though for a little extra boom boom.

Euroswitch with light sensor for the auto function. I plan on getting my rear fogs wired and coded soon for full euroswitch functionality.

5% tint on the back window, which happens to be legal in Arizona. Keeps nosy tailgaters out and blocks a great deal of desert sun. (Don't worry, I have no problem seeing out of it at all.)

20% tint on the back windows and 38% (legal) on the front windows. Also, the windshield has a heat/UV shield and ClearPlex.

Mixed red and blue LEDs in the back to make purple.

Got red in the front and blue floor wells. I think the colors flow well throughout the car. Sometimes, I feel like I'm in a mobile night club.

Here's a better look at the red in the cockpit.

I purchased the euroswitch upgrade kit from bold-sport. You basically just plug it into the back of the euroswitch and route the wire across the dashboard or some place that gets full sunlight.

Welcome to the forum! Nice looking ride, granted the LEDs in there are a bit much but if that's your style, just go with it!

    (also nice stock wheels)

What tuner did you go with?

Thanks for linking up that auto-light setup, there have been a few discussions recently about getting full use out of the OEM "auto" switch.

Was the tint work of the tails done locally, or did you do the work yourself, and with what?

Overall a very nice start! There are LOTS of useful threads on here, you should be able to find most of what you need.

Honestly, I didn't want to buy a tuner, so I had some guys at this place called Little Germany in Tucson tune it for me. The 69 series CAI is purported to not need any tuning at all, but I took it in to them anyways just to make sure I got the most out of my purchase. They were super cool about it, too! I definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

The tint on the tail lights was done at this place called Pleasant Details in Mt. Pleasant, SC. (I know, I know --- loooooong drive from Tucson, lol! I got this done first before I moved out west a few months ago.) It's basically just window tint that they wrap the tail lights with. Took all of 30 min from start to finish. Also, just like window tint, it will look like crap for the first few weeks and then start to settle and darken. Looks great now IMO.

Thanks for your support! I'm going through a lot of the threads now for more ideas. I have a feeling a lot of people aren't going to like my lights though, haha! I can't wait to put up pics of my upcoming work.

Looking forward to seeing upcoming mods!

I go to UofA as well! Junior, math major, NROTC. And yeah, I drove this thing down from Newport, RI, so I know what you mean. If you really really really wanted to, you could make it an easy 4 day road trip if you know people you can stop and rest with along the way. It's also good for quiet reflection and honing your steering wheel drum set skills.

As for tuning, I basically just went to them to see if I was good to go as is. I don't think they actually changed anything, so in that sense, there was no added "tuning" done per se--just making sure my stock tuning could go without being adjusted. I also recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to pay Chapman VW $1000+ for 40k service. Little Germany will do everything for $500, which is still kinda a lot, but much better than other places in Tucson, especially if you don't want to do the work yourself.

$1000 for 40k service is way too much... I was quoted $550 by almost any nearby vw dealer..

I had forgotten about boldsports web page!!!

    Thanks for the remind!!
