For a little while now I've been noticing my car surge in 3rd / 4th from low RPMs. But as of today, upon starting my car, it was bogging very heavily at idle and the CEL proceeded to flash. From what I understand, this sounds like a sparkplug and coilpack problem. How should I go about this? Would it be better to have it towed and fixed or overnight the parts and install them myself? I tried starting my car about three times after turning it off to see if it would run normally. It ran even worse and the 3rd time it barely started up.

    Overnight parts from Japan.

Best bet is to get the codes read. It very well could be an ignition coil issue which could be easily swapped on the side of the road.

search "purge valve", when it goes out it will cause rough starts, and hesitation when accelerating.

well there's a difference between simple throttle hesitation where the car feels like it's bogged down...and hesitation because the car is misfiring. if it's misfiring and has a blinking CEL then you're probably looking at a bad coilpack. spark plugs shouldn't go bad just because a coilpack did. if you think you're ready for new plugs buy a full set and replace them along with a new coilpack. realistically though if you're due for plugs i'd just replace all of them along with all of the coilpacks as well for peace of mind. it'll cost less than $200 for everything.

just get someone to drive you up to the dealer and buy new coilpacks...why would you order them online and wait for delivery? not much of a price difference once you factor in shipping costs. also what does ordering from Japan have anything to do with anything? (from the post above)
