it will run and drive fine some times and sometimes it will act like it just went in to neutral. if i stop put in reverse then back to drive it will go fine. and sometimes all the PRNDS will flash. there are no tranny codes. it's a 2004 FWD 1.8t with only 63k miles .
I have a CVT as well ('02 B6 A4 1.8T - FWD) and knew exactly what I was getting into when I purchased this car, seeing as it's my second B6. My transmission went in my 3.0 quattro (regular transmission) by 80k miles, but I couldn't just give up on A4's totally after that.
Have you ever gotten your CVT fluid changed? Our B6's with CVT trannys require fluid changes often. The flashing you're talking about is better known as the "flash of death" by a bunch of people. But, if you haven't had your fluid done in a while, I would definitely look into getting that done pronto. I know down the line I'm going to have to do a 6MT swap if I'd like to keep this car.. But for now it's all about preventative measures. I just hit 40k and will be doing my fluid + filter change within the next week or two.
i know now the trans is not seeing P and R sometimes. but still operates fine. this trans only has 20k on it. it was replaced under warranty. this car only has 63k miles total. and is a total peace of CRAP!! never going to buy another one. never seen another car that was as problomatic as this one. I think it will be lucky to see 100K I hope Audi gets it right because i do like the car but cant deal with the continuous problems.
