So I am trying to restore the headlights on my 2002 TT225. I am using the MacGuiars HD Restoration Kit.

Heres what I have so far...

Notice how it looks like the protective film has faded diagonally.

Should I try wet sanding with 800 grit wet/dry to remove this? I made several passes with the 1000 grit pad and its still there.

Can anyone offer me some suggestions on how to go about restoring these headlights?

    Thanks.

    Use this as a reference.

It looks like you haven't sanded enough. That haze should not be there. Any pics of the lights before?

Pick up a 3M kit from Walmart/Autozone (I think Walmart is cheaper). I used on an old set of headlights and it cleared them up like new.

it's a kit you attach to a drill and has various sand paper sizes and instructions.
