Whether you like to admit it or not, it happens to even the most open minded of us. What cars and/or brands do you just not like anymore or just don't want to hear anything about or just lose interest in as soon as they are brought up?
For me, and I'm sure many others will post the same thing it's VW and Audi. Why? This site. Over the years there has just been too many vw/audi fanboys that have squeezed out any excitement/interest I once had for these 2 really awesome companies. Now - that's not to say I hate VW and Audi, but I just can't get excited over them anymore. Please don't bring up the classic "but you're on a VDUBYA FORUM LOL IT SEZ VWWWWWWWW-VORTEX IDIOT LOLOL"...it's been explained time and time again.
The interest however is slowly...very slowly creeping back up but almost to the point of being negligable...it's a start though right?
Anyway, what about you?

Inb4 the idiotic Honda/Acura hate.
I use the Ignore function on here liberally. Just an FYI.

Most people spend money they don't have to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like. Just be one of those who doesn't give a flying fvck what other people think, go out and buy what you want and serves you well, and be happier than most...![]()

Yea, I mean I still like VW/Audi but I just can't stand to hear about them on here and I find myself just flat out not interested in them nearly as much as I used to be a few years ago. Kind of like a really great song you hear on the radio, but then gets repeated for months on end until you're sick of it.

I'll agree with the OP on VW. Owning a Rabbit GTI is what got me on these boards, but after years of going to shows (when MKIII's, IV's and V's were new) I just got completely turned off from the VW "scene" that was taking over. I have since sold all of my VW's (for other reasons.)

VW Beetle and Scion tC.
I like both but could never drive one just because of the chick car stigma.

I have to stop this idiot from deminishing my credibility every time he posts because my usernsme is in his sig.

I stillVW's, just as I have since I was 17 years old - longer ago than I would care to admit.
I don't however take part in vwvortex anymore other than to shop classifieds and get tech help or DIY information. I dropped off the site entirely this past January because I just couldn't take the "scene" anymore.
I didn't have a VW/Audi for some time either - bought a GMC Sierra P/U after a failed experiment with a Crown Vic PI for a few months. My wife drives a B6 Passat wagon, so there was that, but it was the first time in a long time that I didn't have a VAG car of my own.
I now have a 1990 GLI, and I am doing it my way, for my enjoyment and not fishing for opinions from anyone else. Funny, I never worried about those things before the interwebz...
I don't plan on going to any VW specific shows, or get togethers. I realized that the last time I really enjoyed owning a VW, was before I started getting involved in the "scene".
The funny thing is that I have met a lot of guys recently while looking for parts who feel the same as me...so maybe someday I will try to get a more mature group of people together to enjoy the hobby with me. In the meantime I am just as happy to wrench in my own driveway by myself and take some fun drives on the weekend.
I never would have thought I would just stop posting and participating in vortex. I was an active poster since 2000 when I got my GTI 1.8T and discovered the site.
I think giving up Facebook a couple of years ago helped me see the light. I enjoy the time I have back with my wife and family - and not worrying about what other people think again.
Anyway - as was said - I will never stop loving the brand, but many of the people and attitudes/trends I can do without.

OP - I can't believe you hate VW...
I kinda got sick of the Buick humping going on the last year or so. The brand does nothing for me.
And the nonstop Hyundai/Kia threads, making them out to be God's gift. I test-drove them. They're not that special.
I'm just quietly waiting in the background for Honda to get their isht back together...
There are no old Porsches - just new owners.

Dodge. More specifically, Neon SRT-4. They're not too shabby but the stigma associated with driving one is something I couldn't deal with.

Basically sick of all the European brands that I used to drool over. There are too many snooty euro-snobs and douchebags driving these around now for me to feel the same way about them.
Terrible that I look at an M3 on the road now and pull up expecting to see gelled, spiky hair with aviator glasses and a fake tan, but dang it I am right 99% of the time.
*flamesuit on*
Also, even, among car enthusiasts, in my opinion these cars have godlike status and I dont really think they deserve it. I have driven an older M3 and a 2010 C63 and .. dont get me wrong... they are absolutely great cars, but they aren't Zondas or anything. They are moderately expensive, fairly quick, heavy european coupes with average build quality. Relax...

Scion, but even then if I was looking at a car and could find an xB at a good price, I'd pick it up.
I say Scion just because tC owners swear they have some hidden gem of a car. The tC is a nice car, but nothing near being a sports car.

i think VAG has a hand in this as well with there subpar offerings

corvette guys, bmw douche, audi snob, prius, bro trucks have pretty much made me hate all trucks

VW/Audi. Thanks to my college roommate who would constantly +1 anything I said about Honda/Acura with how VW does it differently/better.
Lots of my fellow Saab owners tend to be douchebags as well.
#34
New BMW's, Audi's, Z/ G35/ G37. Anything JDM really. Honda, Scion, Toyota cars (Toyota Trucks are awesome and have an excellent community).
I ignore the VW crowd, because honestly what you see on the forums is not the vast majority. The southeast "scene" is still good. The northeast VW "scene" is awful.
Brodozers.
