So I installed my Bilstein PSS coilovers on my coupe quattro today, and I am wondering what people have experienced with settling in. Right now both front and rear are sitting wound all the way down and its basically eliminated wheel gap in the rear and the front has about 10 mm wheel gap still. Im just wondering how drastic the settling in period is because i dont want to be driving one day and then im driving on the fenders

Settling = myth. Suspension eventually settles, but it's a slow gradual process as the springs and shocks wear over their life. Once it's on the ground, and moved a few feet, or been "jounced" by having your rear end plop into the seat with the ebrake off, it's "settled." Where's Max?

Can you post some pics? So once the fronts are dialed ALL the way down, the PSS's still don't get rid of tire to fender gap?

If you have the rear perches in still - remove them. Totally unnecessary.

Rear perches are not my problem...Like i said the rear set with no fender gap and absolutely flush, the front still have minor gap

20v master is correct, there won't be any significant "settling", what you see is more or less what you'll have.

Now, the fact that the front is sitting higher (more fender gap) is normal and to be expected. Due to the suspension design and geometry in the front (McCrapson), this is as low as Bilstein felt comfortable allowing you to go without totally butchering the geometry and killing the front end's performance. Personally, I wouldn't even recommend going all the way down with the front, but since that's the look that you're after, I would just raise the rear to to match or simply learn to leave with it.

What about using the Lupo/Polo strut bushings? They will drop the front about 3/4" and you won't have to spin your fronts down all the way, which can help the ride.

Yes Sir, that's a viable option too, at the expense of some comfort with a bit of increased NVH. With the Lupo mounts, the OP could go a bit lower in the front with the collars all the way down on the coilovers.

No worries about the "low". I am not looking to slam my car, I love the way it is riding now and the ride height is perfect the way it is. Like I was saying, as long as this settling in period is a myth, I can relax now because my spacers have the wheels about flush with the fenders. Thanks for the input Ill try to get picks up tomorrow so everyone can observe

I found my suspension settled about .5" within a few weeks. It's not like a 2" settle or anything. But as stated if you want to even it out, just raise the rear up a tad
