Long story short, I tried to book a timing belt service on my 08 GTI. Tom emailed me back and stated that H2Sport service will be amalgamated with Georgetown VW service dept. He also stated that H2Sport will now focus on "performance solutions". Kinda disappointed, I always thought the team @ H2 was better than the average dealership service department in terms of knowledge, being more of a specialized shop. Time to find a new "go to" shop for service.

the other downside though is you have to deal with the dealerships product prices, labor rates and (although not always) service adviser bullsh!t.

I've had nothing but good things to say about AST (AutoSelectTuning) in Brampton. Fair prices, good work and nice and close to boot! 905-453-4400 if you're interested.

Yeah, not real worried I guess. I have a "go-to" guy that does amazing work. It was nice to have H2 as a backup. Pricing was usually better with them also.

Will used to work at a dealer hence my comment, but remeber as well dealerships are liable for anything that goes wrong.

the good thing is that GeorgeTown VW is actually really good and know their stuff. Also if anything was to happen to come up H2Sport is attached to Georgetown vw dealer so its a matter of going to the back and asking H2sport a question if needed.

No H2Sport at Vagkraft, and almost zero response (only 1 to 5) to my emails and phone calls. Is H2Sport really that bad ? I have always heard good things but this is my first time trying to buy parts from them and they are not making it easy at all.

Hello H2Sport I want to give you money.

I have also had my 2001 Golf 1.8T serviced at H2Sport for many years. Sad to see this happen. Can anyone in the area recommend another good VW shop or know anyone who may want to do some work on my car for cash?

You want to install aftermarket suspension.
You want VW to warranty your aftermarket suspension?
    Come on let's be fair...
If you have a problem with your A/C unit after installing aftermarket suspension, they probably won't turn you away.
But if you have a problem caused / related to your aftermarket suspension, do you really think it's fair to expect VW to warranty it?

As a VW stakeholder, I hope you don't get what you want.

Well this sucks. H2Sport has been my go-to for the past 3 years - they were awesome.

Has anyone had good experiences with any of the recommended shops in this thread? Looking for a shop in the Brampton/Georgetown area to replace H2Sport. I'll take my Audi to GT-VW as a last resort.

    so that's it?

Has anyone been back up to G-town to expecience this.... "Georgetown Volkswagen*Technik"

I did a search in the forums, and I don't see any threads dedicated to them.

I am also surprised that since they have split H2sport like this, that GVT does not have it's own website yet. Something similar to the old one, or at least something to advertise that they do APR tuning etc. It was a big part of what they did/do....???

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Thanks

If are already going to G-Town you might as well go to Wroth in Erin Hendrick and his guys only work on VW and Audi. Both Air and Watercooled. Good shop rate, honest, free loaners, clean shop new and used parts, does amazing custom work and has a Dyno next door. He can stamp your book for warranty when he does your service. He has work on my last 3 VW`s including my 2012. Some of the best service I have ever had especially on my older custom stuff.

I can confirm that Georgetown VW does all that the press release says. They did my APR Stage-1. Joel is very responsive and they know they're stuff. I paid the same for my APR as H2Sport was going to charge before they stopped doing service.

At least for me, I like the security that comes from a VW dealership doing the work. Is it a bit more expensive? Maybe? As far as dealerships go, I think they're great. I used to take my TDI to Oakville (down the street from my former office) and had quite a bit of trouble with their service department (IE: prices change for parts change from the time you make the phone call and the time you get the work done) and generally their shop rate was higher than GT. I'm on my second VW (Both bought at PFAFF) and I've been going to GT for 5 years.

Personally, I think the car is the commodity and I will spend quite a bit of time to get the best price, but getting the car serviced is a differentiater. I don't mind paying a bit more for less headaches and having the confidence that the car will stay on the road and not in the shop.

That's good to hear that they are still doing it then. So how much are they doing of what H2Sport use to do? Are they still doing lowering kits, CAI, wheel spacers, etc etc.

And if so, I would really suggest that Joel gets a separate web page up and running. Just my 2 cents. I used to take my 02 GTI up there for everything as well. And if I plan on getting another GTI, I would not hesitate going back up to G-town if I knew they still offered the same service and the same products.
