    Thread: Auto to manual.

      Currently wrapping up a 5 speed tipi to a 5 speed manual swap.

      Car: 2002 jetta wagon AWP

      Can't get rid of TCU comm. code in ABS and ECU.

      Is it fact that new ECU is needed?

      Can any coding be changed with factory VAS 5051 or similar. I am VW tech trying to get this thing working 100% correct. Thanks.

      P.s. search and found many Tdi swaps and 6 speed swaps not many 5 to 5 1.8t's.
      I love vr6's too much.

      You can not do it with VCDS or VAs.
      You will need to change ECU or re tune original one with different software.
      How ever if you replace ECU it will need to be reprogram to car because of immobilizer.

      We swapped ecu's I programmed key an instruments to ecu at work. All is good, except no cruise .
      I love vr6's too much.
