So i'm finally in the market to pick up a set of wheels. I'm a noob when it comes to fitments and have no clue what specs i should be looking for. I'm lowered currently around 24 1/4" ftg. i want to avoid a rubbing issues and want something in an 18" size. I was looking at a set of LM reps that were 18x8 et40 but didnt no if there would work. Idk if somthing like an 18x8.5 et45 would be better or worse. Any advice would be awesome.

18x8.5 et45 is the most common fitment for aftermarket wheels for these cars and sits flush with the fender.

18x8 et40 will be fine as well.

Fitment really isn't as complicated as many people make it out to be. You also don't seem to be that low either so you should be for the most part golden.

18x8.5 et 45 Tarmacs on my R. No rubbing (unless two people in backseat and I hit a bump at 80 on the highway ). Got some compression rubbing at WiTW but taking dips the way I was, at the speed I was, it's bound to happen. I don't know my FTG but I'm lowered somewhere around ~1.5"
    Holy Milltek.
    Tarmacs cut it close.

im just concerned that if it sits to flush with the fender that i will rub the fender lip, ruining my fenders and tires.

Useful site for visualizing what the changing numbers mean:
    http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit

I personally would be concerned about how to deal with a 9" wide rim, what tires would go on it, and whether or not my choices might lead to interference on the inboard side.

I think a standard 235 would be a mild stretch on a 9" rim. If you're looking for a 'stretch and poke' look, great for you.

I lean more towards a "motorsports" bent, with priorities:
    1. Weight
    2. Traction - as much tire as I can stuff under there without rubbing
    3. Avoid disrupting the steering geometry (scrub radius) by much if I can
    4. cost
    5. looks

There's lots of folks on these boards who know more about this stuff than I do. I find that half the battle is understanding what motivates people, and whether they're interested in the same things as you are.

Thanks for the website, it helps to visualize it. Just looking for something that will fit without rubbing on my fender lip that i can run a 225 40r18 tire on. while staying at my lowered ride height

They will poke 20mm more than stock, which isn't an issue.

They will be more inset by 16mm. The fronts will be close to rubbing your shocks, but you should be okay.

The more aggressive you go, the more you may want to consider 215/40s.
