Thread: P0544: EGT or 02 sensors or both?

  1. 08-08-2012 02:22 PM #1
'04 Jetta, 120k miles, throwing this code often now. No other codes, no perceived performance problems. I plan on keeping this car for a while yet.

Should I just replace the EGT sensor? Or the 02s? Or both? Not much found on this code/repair here or on the web.

    TIA.

    That's an EGT code.

Disconnect the EGT and measure the voltage between the connector pins on the harness side with the key on. If you've got ~5v, replace the EGT sensor. If no voltage, find the wiring problem on the car side.
