My mk2 vrt build

well everyone this isnt my first build thread and i am just about finished with my other one..i started out with a 96 passat vrt that i had built u can check that out in my other thread..i reciently picked up a 1987 gti in decent shape..my buddie was saposed to do work on it but the kid decided he just wanted to sell it so my buddie brian bought it for me knowing how bad i wanted a mk2.. its pretty basic all factory interior decent shape. outside has some rust and lil rot but the car came with new rear quater panels both passenger and drivers side and also came with the rear skirt as well. the gti was swapped with a 2.0aba that just wasnt cutting it for me so now its under a full restoration starting with the motor..so heres a couple pics of when i first picked it up..







this is as of today 8-8-2012..working on shaveing the bay a little not going nuts but atleast look clean..

thanks....i cant wait to actually get a meet going with a bunch of mk1 and mk2 body styles it would be nice to see some different cars and ideas

sorry i havnt kept up with this thread jus been kinda busy but heres some progress pics til today

i wasnt feeling the twists so i swithced it up a little..my buddie donnie started welding up the bay a little bit as well
