I'm reluctantly listing my bug up for sale or trade. It's titled as a 58 and retains some of it's 58 specific parts, but most of the body was switched to a 62 at some point in its life. Located in Bend, OR
Specs -
58 pan, 62 body
1600 dp that was rebuilt by previous owner, maybe 6k miles on it since rebuild.
Comes with a large diameter stock looking exhaust and an empi header w/ stinger
poly mounts
5" shockless narrowed beam, currently less than an inch from the ground, it will adjust up to a bit lower than stock, down to the ground, I'll also include a stock width beam with adjusters.
2.5" forged drop spindles w/ flipped and narrowed tie rods, all new.
3" dropped spring plates and 2 clicks down in the rear. About as low as 3 clicks down, but not as much toe.
Fairly decent 165's in the back, as well as a pair of temps (current tires) and a pair of almost new 135's for the front.
Inside it has original front seats in red, with tmi covers that are near perfect over them. I have a salt and pepper carpet for it, as well as black door panels that are in so so condition that I've just never put back in.
Has an old school bronze hurst shifter in it, with a newer T hande knob.
Comes with a rear seat bottom, but no back.
The bad
It's leaky, both from the engine and the trans. Pretty standard bug stuff. I've got all the seals and new pushrod tubes for the engine, just no time to swap them out.
Brakes could be bled, I also have a new wheel cylinder for the front, it was seeping when I did the beam.
It has some rust. Some of it was repaired by the PO, I've driven it for about 5 months on and off with no issues, but it could use some pan repair as well as inner fender patches and some around the lower door hinges.
Cut Dash
Could use a tune up.
No rear apron on the car, I have one for it though. This may be fixed before I let it go.
All in all its a fun little cruiser, I've been driving it almost every day for the last few months. It's been as reliable as a 60's bug can be, gets pretty good mileage, and a ton of looks. I really don't want to get rid of it, but I need something that I can drive during the winter if needed or some cash to pay bills.
When I got it -
SOLD

That bug is pretty awesome.
I would have never sold mine if it had a link pin beam
I wonder what it would be like to drive from your place to mine in a fairly old car![]()
