I have a starter from a 1996 VW Passat GLS 8v 2.0L w/ Manual transmission that was faulty when taken out. I don't believe the solenoid is broken, as the car would still crank but it just took a long time to start. Make an offer if interested, I'm just trying to get rid of the thing. This is from an ABA engine and would need to be rebuilt.
