Your pics arent working, but to give you an idea. Paint for just a lower rear valance will be around 150-200ish.

Long story short- Backed into my neighbors wall while parking (reverse lights didn't help at all) and I need a new bumpah; if not just having someone bang out the dents and repaint. I guessing I'll need the upper and lower parts of the body as well as new taillight plastic housing (the bulbs work fine).
What concerns me the most is that the top part of the bumper, that holds the taillight, is attached from the point of impact alllllllll the to the front of the car. i.e.-one big connected piece. i.i.e.-one big pain in my wallet.
Has anyone had anything like this happen/ do body work? If so, about how much am I going to be paying (including the graphite blue paint)? If it makes any difference, in regards to pricing, I live in a city just north of Los Angeles called Pasadena.
Thanks!

Ah okay.. I'll find a new place to upload the pic to give you a better idea. Thanks.
Is there any way to just remove the damaged parts and bang out the dents myself, as to only pay for painting?

You photo is really small but it looks like the metal rear quarter panel is dented along the edge by the tail light and bumper. If so, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that'll require welding in a new quarter panel, or at least some serious bodywork at the edge of the quarter panel. That means $$. Go get some professional estimates; body shops do them for free.

Being a broke college student isn't nearly as fun as Animal House made it seem.
Thanks for the info!

I'd be fine with going through insurance but will they cover it if it's my own stupidity? I don't want to pay for it through an inflated insurance bill every 6 months.
X5 is the car my dad keeps for me at his house in Oregon and the Jetta is the one I use in 8/12 months in Los Angeles. I bought the Jetta and the X5 was a graduation present; it's under my name and dad doesn't ever drive it... but collects dust on his property so I guess it is his.
