    Especially lol'd at:

Volkwagen's GTI used to have a noise pipe, but when the latest version appeared in 2011, the pipe was replaced with the Soundaktor. This system uses a hockey-puck-size speaker mounted on the firewall to generate extra noise. VW didn't exactly advertise the feature, and when word got out, the forums lit up.

"The Soundaktor is only there to lie to me," fumed one GTI owner on vwvortex.com when he found out his car has the system

Sound pipes I can get on board with; people want to bash them for their theatrical-type purpose, but these days when cars are so well insulated and road-quiet, I can totally dig the concept of a direct sound tube to the powah makah to satisfy that boyish joy of hearing your powerplant in action under circumstances when you want all that shallow indulgence in the fruits of excess. But a speaker to "replicate" the noise is just cheap. It's the difference between a dedicated girlfriend who wants to show you what she can do to you because she digs you and a cheap whore who will do whatever for a bill or a rock.

    ...okay. Henceforth, speakers = prostitutes.
"What's that loud, boring sound you'll hear when I stop talking?"
    "It's an albino humping worm!"
"Why do they call it that?"
"Because it doesn't have any pigment."

Holy isht.... I did this in 1997 with a microphone in the airbox piped into my stereo for Lulz.

Like everything I think of that's totally dumb, I should'a patented it.
I'm just here for the sanctimonious circle jerk.
