Iam looking to trade or sell my 1983 rabbit ls custom diesel 4 door 5 speed 1.6D, Im really looking for a MK1 2 door with a gas engine. i love my diesel but i need a little more power.
200,000 miles on engine and transmission( speedo stoped working a month ago)
New a-arms and bushings $100
New Inner and outer tierods $80
New Alternator as of last week. $60
New head gasket with headbolts
New valve cover gasket
New timing belt and pulley. $25
New drivers side axle. $70
new shifting linkage.
Rebuilt injection pump (rebuilt by a bosch certified tech 12 month warranty) $400
Their is alot more new parts, they are the main ones
The floor boards are in good shaped, just ground them down and painted the over the winter.
has new carpet put in over last winter.
No rust under the car or in the engine bay
The bad: Its not perfect but it does or will need a couple things in the future.
needs a drivers side shock bearing
vacuum pump needs rebuilt or upgraded.(brakes a little hard to push)
has a dent drivers side by the hatch( not major easy fix)
core support has a couple dents.
I drive this car 300+ miles a week with no problems, i get 47mpg all day long. like i said im just looking for a 2 door mk1 gas rabbit, it doesnt have to run, but be in good shape, and we can work out a money and trade deal.
