I'm not sure how credible the source is but i feel like these could be an accurate representation of whats to come..

hopefully the actual wheel options will be different.

I think it will be more like this.

All of the above have differences between them. I looked only at the fixed window on the rear door - they are all different shapes. That implies that no more than one of these images can be the real thing, and probably none of them are.

Don't worry. The production car will be similar to all of these photos in that it will maintain its generic "Golf-ness" (People will recognize it as a Golf and its appearance will be an evolution of what has come before) and yet it will be different in its details from all of the guesses in the photos above.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it, I think.

I know how ya feel...when the Mk5 came out way back when, I hated it...always wanted a Corrado as a kid, but now I own a Mk5 Jetta and love every bit of it. Funny how that works

Eh. I wish I could agree. MkIV was the only generation that was truly ahead of its time imho... aka love at first sight and to this day. MkV was a fatty version of MkIV with nothing new brought to the table. MkVI was nicer, but it wasn't new either. VW isn't known for taking risks, so I doubt we'll ever see another MkIV. If the MkVII has the garish dash we've seen some tech drawings of, I'm already out of love.

You mean the one that looks like this

Oh wait thats the new merceds C class....I picked up on that dash during a commercial other day I was like WTF? lol

So what you're saying is: the MKV, the entirely new platform/chassis/engine/everything was just a "fatty" version of the slow, underpowered, unrefined MKIV that most people remember as the downfall of the GTI? The MKV improved on the MKIV in every single way possible, but you say it "bought nothing new to the table"? Haha
