Sounds good to me...

Hi Everyone.
I just purchased a 2012 Passat V6 SEL Premium and was offered, after multiple refusals by me, an extended warranty by the VW dealer of 7 yrs /75k miles for $1295.00 with $100 deductable. Is this a good price?
Thanks in advance!!!

Some dealers offer warranties from Wells Fargo and other institutions. So would your quote be for one through VW of America? The 75k miles is whats raising a flag for me..
My Dealer quoted the following through VW USA, quote:
Here are the prices for the VW service contract you requested.
7/70,000 $2026
7/100,000 $3000

I couldn't justify the extended warranty. It seems as though there is enough to get you buy the initial period, and after that you can mod your car as much as you'd like without having to worry about nullifying your warranty.
I'm already craving those Chinese Passat headlights and I'm trying to tide myself over for 3 years / 50,000 mile warranty.

I think the extended warranty offered thru VW dealers is a policy underwritten by fidelity/Zurich which underwrites the manufacturers warranty.
Tip for anyone considering warranty: the rates increase substantially once you hit 50k miles. There is a broker on Quattroworld who makes a living selling VAG cars and extended warranty policies. I know several Audi owners who've worked with him and of the thousands of posts, I've never heard anything negative.
I've never purchased thru him because he was up front about the mileage and cost to warranty my higher mileage rides. Not worth it for me, but probably worth it for low mile owners who want extended coverage.
I'm not trying to sell for anyone or for me. If anyone wants his name and email, just pm me and I'll give it to you. Might be worthwhile to speak with a broker
