VIN sticker location?

Hello, Does anyone know were the factory VIN sticker (chassis number, type, engine/gear, paint/interior) is or should be located on a mk2 Scirocco? I assume it is in the trunk,
but were should it be? I have looked through my mk2 and can only assume it was pulled
off by a prior owner. Thx.

Look in the trunk/hatch around the rear driver's side light.
