    From what I have been able to piece together, the new series GTI probably will not
    be available in the USA until sometime in 2014.

    it will be available next fall (i.e. fall 2013), but will be called a 2014 model. maybe that is the confusion. enjoy

    Expect the MQB Golf+GTI to arrive here as MY2014 cars introduced around September of next year. Depending on how the European market fares in the next few months, that timeline may even get pushed forward a bit.
