I may be picking up a Tig soon, and have started my research on wheels, suspension etc..

After doing some research, and knowing that Savannah's are 19x9 et 33; I found wheels that will stick out 11mm further, and have 15mm less inner clearance. The Tig will be lowered with coilovers.

-Will this work, or will it stick out too far and rub?
-Will there be enough clearance for the brakes?
-Anyone have a picture down the side of a Tig with Savannah's on it that shows how close to the fender they stickout?

    Thanks,
    David

Most Tiguans dealer-equipped with Savannahs also come with different wheel well trim that extends farther beyond the body of the vehicle, a slightly larger flare on the plastic trim (most likely to comply with local market regulations regarding wheels protruding beyond the bodywork).

I noticed that they come with the wider flares; I assume new SEL's?

But what about a 2010 or 2011 with out the "upgraded" flares?

From the looks of it 11mm may be ok but I'd worry more about the inner side. The wheel (OEM setup) sits very close to the shock and most probably will rub.

Stock non flared tigs on savannahs don't really need flares bud.. But they are super tasty.

Here are the best pics I could find. I had found a better pic a few days ago that shows it better, but I can't find it now.

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...o-toned-wheels.....

You might need these as well to prevent "bumping/rubbing" on high suspension travel:

    https://www.vwdiscountparts.com/part...catalogid=5496

And if you do want the awesome wheel flares you'll need to find part "5n0-071-681-041" which should be the right part for non-sport, non-SEL, narrow flared, the part that the rims say are "required" when ordering.

I know this since I did a lot of research before I purchased a full set (Savannah Wheels, Tires, TPMS mounted and balanced) that are due to arrive Monday. I'm going to install those and see how they look before I order the suspension limiters and flares. If I don't need the flares I'll just get the limiters for now.

Thanks for all the info. When you get your Sevannah's, if you think about it will see how close to the shocks the inside of the wheels are?

    Thanks, Pineapple!

That sits about perfect without the flares! I'm thinking 19x10 et 35 might be a little to aggressive...

Hows the ride on the H&R's? How much do they lower the Tig?

I got the springs cheap so i said fck it and installed them on the stock shocks. It was more of an experiment due to most tiggy owners saying stuff wont work. The ride is a bit harsh over the big stuff. I am going to switch out the rears to my oem gti shocks to see if it helps any ( i have heard gtis ride great on supersports/ oem gti shocks). It lowered the car car quite a bit.
My wife loves the ride but I jumped in the gti on ultra lows after driving it and can def feel a difference .

Ultra lows are some of the best coilovers for low + good ride IMHO. Let me know how the ride is when you change the shocks....

So I ended up sticking with 19x9. I wanted to do 19x10 all the way around, but all signed pointed to the 10's being to wide to work on the front without hitting the springs.

So here it is. 19x9 et 35 255/40/19 Rotiform SNA
(I have some B&G springs waiting to go in, just need to find time to do it)
