I am having trouble bleeding the brakes on my 93 passat gls with the vr6 I cannot get any fluid to the rear brakes. I have moves the limiting valve on the suspension and still no luck. This is a system with no vacuum assit on the brake here is a pic of the master cylinder abs assy.

Make sure everything is pluuged in, as I see a connector out in the photo.

Then, are you trying to bleed the brakes by the old pump-then-bleed method?
If so, don't. Power bleeding is a must on these cars, just get/rent a power bleeder,
I paid abour $50 for mine - makes the job A LOT easier, and does the job very well.

yes i do have everything plugged in but the method i have been using is a vacuum bleeder. Like this one here.

So you PULL the brake fluid through the bleeder valves?

Yes that is how the vacuum bleeder works. I also have a bike and I can't bleed the brakes on it pumping then opening the bleeder screw etc. On my bike this takes maybe 5 min with an empty system to fully functioning.

Well I worked on the car some more today and still no joy Now i see a new problem I see some smoke coming from the motor on the master cylinder assy I am not sure if is because the motor is overheating or is it because it is fried. I still have not been able to bleed the rear brakes. all help will be great. thanks.

Yes, this is a B3 master cylinder assembly, except this one is for a B3 with cable clutch, not hydraulic.
    Is your cable/hydraulic?

this car has an automatic transmission so no cable for the clutch because it doesn't have one.
