did you get a recpt showing the service performed? is there a filter on that list?
did they say they changed it?
most dealers dont include the filter with the fluid service.. ask me how i know.

Back story I purchased r32girls car from a VW dealer in RI.
After talking to her I found out that she did not do the 40k and DSG service. Because she was turning the car in from a lease soon anyway why spend 1k bucks. IMO perfectly reasonable.
So I ask the dealer if they did the 40k. They say yes but that they didnt do the DSG.
Vws website says the car must be up to date on all maint. to be CPO.
I bring this to my dealers attention. First they tell me my manual is wrong and that they do it at 60k. Then they hand me their own dealer info that states to do it at 40k and 80k as if thats proof that they should do it at 60k
So they offer to do the DSG service at their cost..265 bucks. I say BS. The manager tells me he will call me in an hour after talking to the Service manager.
In the meantime I call VW for piece of mind and they say the dealer should eat that cost. But I dont file anything becase I am trying to give the dealer a chance to make it right.
10 min after talking to VW, my dealer calls and tells me they will take care of it all no charge to me.
So before I drop the car off. I do as I always do and check everything out on my car. Looking for dents scratches ect. so I know whats there before I leave it in their hands.
Well I pick the car up in the pouring rain. Get it home and pop the hood.
Is it at all possible a tech could change the DSG filter and make it looked like he touched absolutly nothing?
There apears to be no finginger prints or socket marks on the black filter housing?
Does the air box need to come out?
Paranoid? Or am I on to something?
I figured even the best tech would leave finger prints on housing unless he wipes the black of the filter housing off which he did not.

well sheet.
call them up. I dont think with the stock airbox you can get in there and change it. if your aftermarket it may be possible to get in there no prob.

the filter box has to come out yes, when i do the dsg services at my shop we always clean everything off as best as possible there should be marks on the top of the filter housing where the socket was put on it to unscrew it. but nothing easily seen. i do have to say though if the dealer seems shady you should probably find another one or place to take your car
