Thread: dry start issue

  1. 08-10-2012 09:21 PM #1
I recently left my car 88 Cabby sitting for a week. When I got back and started it oil pressure was low for good 30secs. Now ever since when I start theres few seconds no oil pressure(also can hear lifters clicking until pressure builds up. So I changed from 20w-50 to rotella 15w-40 which made it a little better and added lucas and if I dont start everyday there will be low pressure at start up.

There is 20k on engine with all new parts and I use the mann filter. Tomorrow I am switching to mahle filter and 5w-40 oil.

    What do you guys think?

If you have dry starts I would suspect that your oil pump sump isn't holding prime....or that you dented your pan about were the pick-up tube is, or that the screen is clogged up.
Grounds, Grounds, Grounds Replace them things.
Divorces, Great Coffee, and Electrics, all start with GOOD Grounds.

    Where are my grounds ?
