I drive one that was at least in production when I was born. Although my particular example was manufactured in late 1988, so it's over three years past when I was born.
Close enough for government work.

I love all cars, I just happen to own a few pieces of german crap at the moment.

1983 GTI, just like this: Black, red interior.
In fact, it was the first car parents had when I was born.

*Screeches to a halt.
Are you saying that's been done or that you'd drive it?
I love MR2s, but I'd better get something pretty damn good back for losing that 4AGE engine and it's sweet 7500 rpm redline. That could be a hell of a commuter, though. I'd think the fuel system would be tricky and you'd have to have some pretty tall gearing, but if you really nail the gearing it might be quite a fun little 45 mpg car.

new rule: no 911s (for reasons of unfair mechanical and chronological omnipotence)

1984 - Porsche Carerra. I love it. It is the only car that I have owned and driven that actually did live up to my unrealistic expectations. Thus making it the only car I have owned in the past few years that I am not actively trying to sell.
