OK...vets...don't judge...I've read all the threads, studied my Bentley and this is the fourth regulator I've put in and I can't figure out what the motherFKING hell is wrong with this.

This is the FOURTH regulator I've replaced and this is my last. I just want to get this working until I can replace it with a manual I'M SO DONE!!

This is a brand new regulator and I've used THREE different motors on this thing and there must be something I'm missing because when I engage the motor and the window starts moving upwards it stalls about half way up its upward progress slows down quickly and then near stops, but creeps to a close. The motor is horribly hot as it seems to be overworked. I looked for obstructions and couldn't find any. I then loosened the window guide clamps and tried again. (I thought there may not have been enough horizontal play to allow the to self adjust while being raised.) This helped a little, but not enough. I was able to hand assist the window closed and left it that way until I can get some veteran feedback.

    What am I missing?

Are you tightening the glass at the bottom of the door or in the upper set of holes?
Are you sure theres nothing stuck in the guides themselves?
Also make sure the guides are lubed with correct lubricant

    1)
*I tried tightening the guides at the top and the bottom in separate attempts. When I tightened them at the "top", I couldn't reach them with my thick hands all the way at the top, so I performed this action with the window down about 2 inches. (Is that a problem?)
*In another attempt, I lowered the window 80% of the way, left the guides fairly loose and raised it. (To see if it just needed more room to 'self-adjust') This resulted in the same window behavior. I.E. it slowed at the half-way point and then creeped the rest of the way or simply stopped cold)

    2.)
I checked the guides about three time and could not find any obstructions.

    3.)
What is the 'correct' lubricant? I do not believe the Bentley provides this info.

It's been a while since I've played around with regulators but I think the cables are binding. You don't mention if it's a rear or front door but if it's a front there's something with the design that leads to problems. I've bought garbage repo ones before with this problem.

Check the top and bottoms of each side to make sure the plastic guides aren't broken or loose. Another thing you can do is pull the regulator and just try to power it in your hand (or on the floor or whatever) to see if that makes a diff. I'm betting though if you pulled the motor and then unscrewed the middle part you'd see the cable is all wound up.

Thanks for the input and I understand where your coming from and its a reasonable possibility, but in this case I connected power with the regulator outside the door and its tracking perfectly. I also tested it without the glass when installed in the door and its perfect. Cables at definitely intact and functioning properly. So that's not it

    Hi.
I had exactly the same prob as you.
Turned out that I did not install the window correctly!
    I did my left front.
When you put the glass down into the clips, make sure that the left hand one, if you have the door open, is resting on the little white tab right next to where the glass fits in.
    Hope this makes sence.
I did mine a couple of times with the glass to the front, the outside of the door, of this little tab and it made the glass tight in the guides which caused the whole thing to get stuck and reverse.

I hope this makes sence and will help.

I understand the concept of your explanation, but not sure where the 'white tab' is you're referring to. Is this tab on the window guide itself? (window guide meaning the clamps that hold the window onto the regulator.)
