Hey guys i got lucky and picked this up for $1500! This will be my ladies ride/my back up so i want to revive it into near new condition.

    Info:
    2000 Audi A4 Quattro
    Silver
    159k miles
    1.8T 5-speed

    Issues found mechanically:

Oil cooler failure - coolant/oil mix
    Secondary radiator fan toast
All front upper suspension link ball joints toast
    Motor mounts toast
    Cam adjuster seal pouring
    Vacuum leaks up the wazoo
Secondary air pump filled with H20
    Coolant temp sensor toast
    Both rear window regulators failed
    Front outer CV boots torn

    After a simple car wash

Anyone willing to repair the bumper alone if i pay CASH $$$$$$$$$$$ ??

Ok so work ive done so far, most parts replaced were donated to me by fellow techs or Ebay.

Valve covert gasket & cam adjuster seal replaced.
Timing belt, serp belts & v belts replaced
    Secondary fan replaced
Factory viscous type fan replaced with 14" electric fan thermostatically controlled ( write up soon )
    All front suspension links replaced
    Front outer CV boots replaced
    Rear differential service performed
Transmission fluid replaced, all Royal Purple products used.
    APR front snub mount
OE replacement motor mounts & transmission mounts.
    New oil cooler & seals
Replaced every vacuum hose with heavy duty line
Cooling system flushed TEN times to clean everything out
    New thermostat
    Brake fluid flushed
    Power steering fluid flush performed
    Secondary air pump replaced.
Updated Green coolant temp sensor in
    New coolant flange

I acquired a set of surface damaged wheels off an insurance job we did a while back, wheels came off a 2008 Jetta TDI with 20k (ish) miles. Tried one on to see how id like them:

Damage cleaned up, they'll be sent off to powdercoat & mated with 15mm spacers out back and 10mm spacers up front.

Got the car professionally buffed ( 3-step ) as well as interior detailed/shampoo.

Installed some OEM New Jetta exhaust tips - opinions?

Plans to have done within the next month or two:

    H&R sport lowering springs
    Bilstein Sport shocks
New cross drilled/slotted brakes all around
    New windshield
    New rear window regulators
Have the new wheels on the car when suspension is done
    K&N drop in filter/modded airbox
    APR TIP
    3" test pipe/cat delete
    Tune of some sort
    Colder plugs

Thanks guys, i had been looking for a B5 silver A4 for a few months. I gave myself a $4000 budget being that seemed to be the going rate for these, but they all needed roughly the same amount of work this one needs so i definitely think i lucked out. I dont plan on going crazy with it as its going to be my more practical car..... though it does enable me to take the Jetta further than i had planned

How did the motor look when you changed the valve cover gasket? With that lack of maintenance, I'd be worried about sludging. Seafoam that thing!

Valve cover wasn't "clean" but it was far from sludge. I removed the oil pan to inspect the oil pick up tube and it was clean/clear. I've changed the oil twice since purchase with the use of BG MOA oil additive.... good stuff.

I really wanted the 30v but i couldnt pass this deal up. My girlfriend loves boost as much as i do so we've made the decision to do the following by christmas instead of swapping gifts.

    K04
    Matching tune
    3" test pipe
    TT 2.5" cat back exhaust
Godspeed FMIC + Devils own injection
    Modded airbox with K&N
    Billet DV
    APR TIP

Thats really it we dont plan on doing anything more other than driving it..... Im going to tear the Jetta apart once i have this car home for her so i can start MY boost project.

Ok got some more photos uploaded.

    TurboXS DV installed.

Threw in some TSI coils, added the 1.8T coil grommets to make them more secure.

Also went with a bit colder NGK's gapped at .040

Tearing the front end off for belt replacement + fans

I was really bad at taking pictures during this as i just wanted to get it done. The inter cooler was 10x as bad as this.

So i used compressed air to blown/clean out the radiator, condenser, & inter cooler.

Coolant drain, Jesus this car has seen more coolant flushes in the month and a half I've owned it than any other car I've owned.

    All off

159k, i literally spend half the day cleaning & replacing oil soaked hoses & vacuum lines.

New timing belt on, now i wont be scared revving this puppy out

All hoses cleaned in our parts washer, i then coated everything with Wurth rubber care to hold me over until i buy some sort of upgraded hoses.

14" puller mounted, new secondary high speed fan & APR Snub mount.

By this point i stopped taking pictures being this was a 9 hour ordeal and i just wanted it to be over

Car is back together and AC is frigged! Throttle response is great and it seriously feels like i picked up 20 horsepower.... that being said let me list what i did during this day of work.

    K&N drop in
    Modded/swiss cheesed airbox.
All boost hoses + inlet pipe cleaned of crap
    Colder NGK plugs
    TSI coils
    Viscous fan delete
Replaced oil soaked N75 hoses + vacuum hoses ( especially the DV hose )
TurboXS Diverter valve ( just rebuilt it )
    Intake de-carb service
    Inter cooler cleaning

I found some sketchy $hit but this is why i always go over EVERYTHING when i buy a project like this.

MAF sensor completely unscrewed from its housing in the airbox.
Airfilter was put in by the Incredible Hulk - it was destroyed.
    Bolts missing from timing covers
Wood screws holding front bumper on
Missing timing belt tensioner roller spacer
Spark plugs COMPLETELY loose ( removed them with my fingers )
Pinched vacuum hoses from improper routing
Split N75 vacuum hoses from improper routing.
Loose coolant banjo bolt on turbo.

Its no wonder the car feels like a rocket compared to before lol.

Its the "odd" year 2000, its the ATW engine code. Seems right when info is looked up on elsa web. Either way im happy its the push in coils.

Haha yeah that's 89A but the area just north of Sedona is known as Oak Creek Canyon. Definitely one of my favorite roads in the state.

    Great success

Also replaced the blown rear subwoofer with Kicker Comp Series 2 ohm amps, the system sounds perfect now.
