I know all mkvs have very similar suspension. I need to replace the strut knuckle and the axle on the front driver side of my 2008 manual GTI. I found a yunk yard selling this part fairly cheap but they came off a 2007 Automatic GTI. Does anyone know if the strut knuckle and axle from the 2007 GTI (automatic) be compatible with my 2008 GTI (manual)?

the knuckle should work, but i think the axles are diff from manual to auto's.

ecs shows there are auto and manual shafts. (http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...5/Search/Axle/)

Stay away from cheap axles. Its a world of headache and they have a high sign of wearing/breaking much quicker.
