I'd check the fuses next.

So I took my GTI in for my 10k service and to have them fix the wastegate rattle and the subframe shifting. They fixed the wastegate by installing the clip but didn't have the shims in stock for the subframe so I need to go back anyway, but I'd really like to fix my license plate lights before then.
Is there a possibility the tech could have accidentally unplugged a cable for the lights when he was rotating the tires or messing with the wastegate, etc? Maybe a blown fuse? I'm running LEDs and I already tried putting the incandescent bulbs back in but they don't work either.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I just checked the fuses and they're all good.
Mainly I'm wondering if there could be a wire or connection loose under the car.

Put stock lights back in, if they don't work take it back to the dealer if the fuse is fine

The original (incandescent) bulbs did not work and the fuses are fine. I will be taking it back to the dealer.
I'm just trying to see if it's something simple I can fix since I won't be able to get to the dealer for a week or so and I have to drive at night to get to/from work.

I would definitely rotate the tires back to see if that fixes it...
