    Overhead Console Switched Power?

    I'm looking to power my Homelink device to switched power from the overhead console. Right now it's tapped into one of the "map" lights, but, these lights can be turned on/off by simply opening the door (convenience setting) or pushing the button without the ignition key being inserted. This may pose a problem since my CC mostly sits on the driveway overnight. Someone can conceivably break into (or just open the door if unlocked) and then open up my garage door.

    Anyone know if and what a switched power source in the overhead console is?

    The Bluetooth mic is up there with the map lights. Other than that I don't know. But the car would have to be on for that to have power. Also the rear view mirror has power. But headlights have to be on for that to have power. Don't know. Just my guesses.

    See my thread installing 9500ix Radar.

    The only switched power I could find was going to the mirror which is not too bad to get at.
    2011 CC Sport 6SPD MT Candy White with 4 holes in front.

    Nice, clean install. I thought the mirror is only "hot" when the lights are turned on (as you originally found out ). Is the black/yellow definitely switched irrespective of lights on? I have a 2012, looks like I may have to get out my multimeter to identify the right wire(s).
