not really normal. is the switch mounted properly to dome light assembly. do the open, fully open line up with dome light assembly. or is the closing the only one off?

Seems like it's just the closing. If i put where it's supposed to close, the vent stays open.

Sounds like the knob was pulled and installed in the wrong position. Or the motor was pulled and installed in the wrong position.

For knob... Put the roof in the closed position, pull the knob and reinstall so it matches the closed position.

For entire motor. Put the roof in closed position. pull motor and leave it's wires connected. rotate
knob to closed position with motor removed from sunroof assenbly. After gear stops turning reinstall motor.

Fyi to remove the knob you may have to remove the entire cover assembly

Once you have the cover off it should be pretty straight forward.
    Motor looks like this.

And should be held in place by 3 (I think) torx bolts.

Before you do any of this.. turn the knob to the closed position.. Roof should now be in tilt position.
If that is the case close the roof with the remote or key in door. After your done try the know and see if it works correctly. If it does not then try what I previously posted.

So I did the motor removal and a few things happened.

    1. I put the button in the closed positon and remounted. Didn't work. I tried 8 times. A few times, it would go to open and then just bounce back to the close positon.

    2. I had to use a torx driver and put it in the motor screw and manually turn it. I got it a little better, but it still doesn't close when the button is in the "off" position.
