Those aren't bump stops. Those are shipping spacers put in there by the factory. They should have been removed by the dealer during the PDI (pre-delivery inspection). Just rip them out. Hopefully, your noise will go away, too.

All,
Need a little help with a suspension issue. I have a 2007 MKV Jetta GLI with about 67,500 miles on it. I started to hear a small sqeak coming from the front drivers side of the car whenever I make a slow right turn. I looked at the front struts and here's what I found:
DRIVER'S SIDE:
PASSENGER'S SIDE:
Questions:
Can I replace the bump stops myself by simply reaching my hand up there & pulling off the old ones & installing the new ones? (Or do you have to completely take off the strut to install new bump stops?)
Is that wear a sign of other suspension parts going bad? I don't feel any other adverse ride quality when driving. How long to OEM stock struts last? (generally)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!![]()

I cannot imagine how this car rode with those things in there. Amazing actually. Good luck...hope the ride is better.
