1979 mk1 scirocco with heron engine in Quebec, Canada

Scirocco MK1 1979. Very solid body overall, floors and suspension top mounts are nearly perfect. Repairs to be done to the rear valence and both front fenders shot. Included in the sale are 2 used very good front fenders. Inner fenders rusted as weel (see pics), included in the sale are front corners and lower rear corners rust repair panel cut out from another rocco, basically everything needed to repair would then be included. NOS KAMEI front spoiler in black with original sticker now installed. body has 65 K miles.

I have all the glass in spares + some seals - including a very good windshield and seal.

Interior is in very good shape and is complete. Dash is FREE of any crack. AC was deleted in the past. Water gets in the car on heavy rain (got caught once, I don't drive the car in the rain, I suspect the air inlet for the ventilation system but did not investigate further). Seal are pretty good, I have new window scrapers also from vintage rubber yet to be installed.

ENGINE is a 1.7 with HERON head and piston, completely revised and honed / rebuilt. Head was gone thru by a local good reputation speed shop. New valve seals and all. Mild porting to the head and intake manifold + bigger TB. TT 2.25 inches line with high flow cat (green thinking made me do it...) and tri y bosal bros new headers. 4K trans completely revised as well and Quaife LSD (new) installed. New clutch, 16V pressure plate and lightened flywheel. Motor / trans have roughly 2K miles on them. Pulling very strong for such as small engine. Setup is impressive and PERIOD CORRECT. simply not continent correct!

Neuspeed springs / unknown struts but ride is at the same time comfy and holding great.

Old school 13 x 6J msw wheels with very good sumitomo 205.60.13. I still have the original flawless tarantula wheels with dry tires and they are included in the sale.

H4 + relays, BOSH fog setup to be installed (original switch in dash is there). Newer sony radio with 3x5 polk audio in the front and MB quart 6x9 in the back. Door cards and rear parcel were chewed up by PO I just upgraded the setup. - sorry

Bought the car in the US in 2007 from the 2nd owner who had it for 25 years. Still have all the papers including all receipts from this gentleman.

Looking for 3500$ and I am willing to deliver across the border in the Maine NH or NY area.
