    Hey guys,

I just bought a new 2012 jetta 2.5 two weeks ago and i want to install 18" VMR V710 rims. I went to the dealer they told me the rim needs to be a 50 offset. It's hard to find 50 offset did anyone else run into this problem as well? any suggestions?

    Thanks

You should have no problem with 45 VMR's. I'm running VMR's on my daily and they've been great. Good guys at VMR also. I get alot of compliments on the wheels.

    You'll be safe running an 18x8.5 ET45 or 19x8.5 ET45 VMR setup.

We have many models to choose from in our 3 standard finishes, Hyper Silver, Gunmetal, & Matte Black.

18x8.5 ET45 V710s with 225/40/18 tires would be a direct bolt-on fitment for your car that I could guarantee to have no rubbing issues on stock suspension.

Feel free to shoot me a PM or give me a call at 714-442-7916 ext 108 if you have any questions or would like a pricing quote.

What size tire is recommended for the vmr setup? Will I need spacers for the rears?

Im running 18x8.5" VMR V710 w/ a 45 offset front and rear with no spacers and its pretty flush. The tires in the pictures are 225/40/18 and i like them, but occasionally rub on potholes with the height im at.

my setup is 19x8.5 +35 - i think 19's look better than 18's... but to each their own! VMR is the best company ever =]

Im on raceland coilovers and the spring rate sucks so I do have rubbing issues... ive rolled and pulled fenders and now i just need to run some 215s and the problem will be solved. And im dropped about 2.5-3inches

Hello I was wondering if you have stock suspension or did you put lowering springs on it? looking pretty sweet.

I hope I don't need to roll or pull fenders . What's difference between 215 and 225? I read up on tire measurements. Is that the width of tire? If so, with a 8.5 rim, is there stretching? I'm an amateur there so...I don't know much about that or stretching pros and cons

Wow turbopanda, thanks, I really thought I had it figured out with the 18's in gunmetal, have the same car and tint, now I don't even know my name. Thanks a lot!

Still going with the 18's though. Not ready to get into all of that to get there. Looks incredible though.

    VMRs? like 24lbs for a 18 and 27lbs for a 19. Dependent on width.

Just out of curiosity, have you noticed any difference in fuel economy when you switched up to those 18"s? I think those wheels are awesome and have been eying them for a while, but I drive my 2.5 a LOT and don't really want to sacrifice my mileage just for looks.

I don't have VMRs but I have 18s, and I really haven't noticed any difference.
