Can you compare MKV projector fogs to MKVI fogs? How much fab work would be needed to make the projectors fit?

Not sure of everything needed, but obviously the bumper is different, along with all the grilles.

    Hi,

MK6 GLI side skirts require me to use 5 self tapping screws for installation. What length screws does vw recommend? Are these screws generic or is their a VW part number for them?

They show parts in the picture but do not list a part number. I assume they attach the same as the MKV. If they do, you would need four adapters and eight screws. The part number for that screw is N-103-546-02 and is 5X16.

The GLI Skirts only attach with 3 or 4 pre-installed plastic clips that push into the body-plug holes under the car and 2-sided taped to the rocker (tape is pre-installed). Be sure when you are installing the clips that they go in wicked-straight or you will risk damaging part of the bracket.

I got the same instructions you are seeing with the GLI sideskirts. The document shows a mk5 jetta however when I checked VW's own software repair catalog the up to date instructions are VERY different and rightly show the need for 5 screws WITHOUT touching those in the wheel well liner. I have no clue why VW supplies the dated instructions with the GLI side skirts as you don't need primer or glue either for their installation.

Thanks for the part number. It's given me an idea of what dimensions I should be looking at

Really? The only difference is the shape of the lights, they will fit in the same space in the grill cutouts but with a gap.
I plan on doing the install as soon as I can get my hands on a set. looking to spend no more than $80 for a new set since I've seen them sell for that before but cant find the site I had seen them on...

What parts would I need to change my rear bumper to the GLI rear bumper? Will I need a new absorber and all those other little parts, or will I just need the bumper cover and the little valence for the exhaust?

I am not sure but I think if you do a search you may come across a thread covering this conversion. I suspect you may need all the little bits though.

i dont think that trim piece is sold separately all i see is with the switches attached.

    Clips: 7L6868243

Also for the trim they are going to need to know more about the car like model and bulid date. if you check the side panel on the left or right side of the dash look for a sticker on it with a date code like 10/11 or something similar.

I didn't see any sort of sticker with a date code, but it's a 2012 Jetta SEL, black interior. I can supply the VIN if necessary.

I am looking to retrofit heated seats into my 2011 Jetta S. Are the rotary dials for the factory heated seats part of the HVAC controls or can I buy them separate?

I need part numbers (and info) for the following items:

    GLi (2012) front bumper:

    Gli (2012) lower mesh insert:

    Gli (2012) mesh grill:

    Gli (2012) fog lights:

Assuming this all fits over the standard Jetta Reo bar etc. Also I might need part numbers on any screws / adaptors / plugs etc. that are needed to fir this that I might not already have from pulling off my factory bumper (also will need install instructions)

How much would it cost to buy a 2013 spec backup camera and have it installed? Also, same with xenon headlights and esc off switch - to buy them and have them installed total.

Thank you for starting this thread!

Hey Bud, I gotta ask. Why don't these cars come license plate screws? My dealer ruined my bracket with horrifically humungous 10mm screws.
I'm using some 5/16" self tapping screws that found laying around, they work but aren't really tight, plus they're ugly.

I love TORX heads so I want to try these from ECS. Can you confirm that these will work on the rear plate holder. Fit into the screw holes and not poke into the trunk paint?

For whatever reason, manufacturers simply don't provide license plate screws as part of the vehicle production.

I don't have the bolts you shared the link to, but from what I see, they should work.
